Please first decide your payment amount. Note: a step that follows enables you to order a paper textbook (+$20) or e-book (+$15) -- your choice.

Early Bird Option: $295 (choose if 30+ days before in-person class)

Regular Option: $325 (choose if less than 30 days before in-person class)

  • Each person registers separately. Then, parent:  If paying by check, Venmo, or PayPal, just pay the total appropriate amount; if paying by charge card, please pay below for your spot, then give us authorization here to add a charge to your card for your child(ren) at $100 off per child.

Advanced WFA Part II course registrants only: This class only includes an exciting night-time team rescue scenario and has significantly higher expenses. Happily, there's free camping on-site with nice bathrooms & showers. The fee is $70 more than the dtWFA course amounts noted above ($365 if paid more than 30 days in advance, $395 paid 30 days or less). If you choose to pay by charge card below, please click on the Early Bird or Regular option, and we will increase the amount that actually gets charged by $70 (we give you textbook in class), or $79 if you want the AWFA Part II textbook mailed to you for advance study. If you choose a different means of payment, please be sure to include the $70 to $79 AWFA Part II supplement.

Step 3: Forms and Textbook for In-person Classes

  • If you will be under age 18 at class time (note: focused teenagers with solid attention spans are very welcome) please print this form, the under-18 person signs page 1, a parent/guardian signs page 2, and bring the completed form to class -- required to attend.
  • ALL participants: Download this PDF document for course timing, to understand the critically-important multi-step safety check-in procedure upon arrival, for what to bring, etc.
Please be advised that in class, you will need to sign page 1 of this form. We will provide the paper form for you in class.
  • Textbook (fifth edition): SOLO HQ requires each participant to please use one of these two links to purchase an e-book or paperback book on Amazon. If you want paperback but Amazon won't deliver in time, contact us. Please note: The e-book "is a fixed format book, it is not recommended for phones or small tablets," and we ask everyone to have their devices turned off during class so as not to disturb students sitting adjacent nor distract the instructor (though laptop and large tablet computers are welcome in class, if disconnected from wifi and cellphone signals). One can hand-write notes in the paperback version.

NOTE: prior students wrote:

"Encourage reading material before class. So much material to cover and absorb, having read first would have helped."

"Insist that everyone study the book prior to taking the course. I did + it really helped."

Step 4: Avoiding Spam Filter

EVERYONE (CRITICALLY IMPORTANT): on a computer (if you use gmail, this will not work on a smart phone), in your email "Settings," then "See all settings," please "create a new filter" for all emails from @solowfa.com to "never send to spam," or else there are significant odds you'll miss very important emails from us, pre- and post-class.
Just clicking on an email from one of us "not spam" WILL NOT WORK because strangely, people often receive emails from one MEDIC staffer but not another. Please create the recipe for all incoming emails from @solowfa.com . Thanks.
MEDIC staff will email you (1) when your registration and payment have been processed and your spot is confirmed, and (2) about a week before class with extremely important final notes.

Step 5: Maximize your Learning

3 ways to make, and get the most out of your learning experience (optional):

Pre-watch our highly-engaging instructors' individual-topic videos.

  • Repetition is a powerful learning tool.
  • In-person class is fast-paced; however you can watch videos at your own pace and leisure.
  • Take 50% off our highly-rated online learning program if you're enrolled in an upcoming in-person class.  Your access to videos starts when we receive your Participant Agreement, and lasts through the final day of your in-person course.
Notes: the heavily-discounted rate does not come with any free extension of viewing duration, refund, or completion certificate (which is trumped by dtWFA certification granted to in-person course graduates). This deal is only paired with in-person class; if at some point you cancel out of in-person class, the discount is no longer valid; hence $49.50 of your in-person course fee is transferred to cover your online learning.
To order the online content, simply submit $49.50 here.

"WILDCARE" is the premier 330-page disaster + travel + wilderness reference manual, written by the SOLO physician who has traveled far, provided disaster medical care, and been on over 1,000 back-country rescues.  It presents the dtWFA course in greater depth, with beautiful images and graphics, interesting factoids, and many additional topics. WILDCARE Info and Order Page

If this course qualifies for reimbursement with your employer, please let us know so he can help spread that good word.
